Forestry Operations Technician (Seasonal):

Direct employment and contract opportunities available. Work outside in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains in a fulfilling line of work. Our Forestry Operations Technicians develop valuable skills assisting in the completion of our forestry projects in conjunction with our professional Project Forester and staff. Projects include forest thinning, insect/disease control, and wildfire mitigation. Gain experience working with chainsaws, hand tools, and small machinery. Position requires the ability to complete physical labor tasks on a daily basis. Pay is based on previous skills, education, and work experience. Opportunities for advancement to forestry crew leader and forestry operations supervisor.

Wood Product Technician (Year-round):

Direct employment and contract opportunities available. Get hands-on experience working in a custom products sawmill. Work on all aspects of processing salvaged and harvested forestry materials into our various wood products. Gain skills using our machinery including circular mills, wood splitter, pole-peeler, chainsaws, tractors, and many more. Opportunity for work on custom projects. Position requires the ability to complete physical labor tasks on a daily basis. Pay is based on previous skills, education, and work experience. Opportunity for advancement to sawyer position.

Product Sales Specialist:

Develop innovative and new products using locally sourced small-diameter timber. Unique sales position that combines product development, sales and marketing, woodworking, and small business management. Tasks include designing business and marketing plans, developing product lines, customer/community outreach, sales of basic and value-added wood products, and managing day-to-day sales. Requirements include some previous experience in sales/marketing, Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Quickbooks, and developing lasting customer relationships. Employees in this position are eligible for promotion to Business Manager.

General Business Manager:

An advanced position and a unique opportunity for those with experience in the wood products business. Responsibilities included 1) Management of the positions at the sawmill including the production crew, mechanic, and product sales representative 2) overseeing production and inventory to fulfill and anticipate orders, and 3) continue to innovate and streamline our production processes. This position requires previous experience with wood products and sawmill management. To insure total familiarity with operations, additional training will be done in our Office Manager, Product Sales, and Sawyer positions (employees fulfilling these lower positions are eligible for promotion to the General Business Manager). Position can be done on a commission contract.
