Pole pergola with swing do it yourself project by greenleafDo-It Yourself Pergola Project

Overall dimension: 8 ft. by 16 ft.
plus 5 ft. extension for swing.

Project length: 4 days (two people with extra help for drilling and lifting)

Preparation: Pre-coat log bottoms with tar or (recommended) soak in copper nathenate underground post treatment (commonly available at home centers and hardware stores.)

Day 1: drill holes (hard work if in rocky soil)
Day 2: set vertical posts, cut joints
Day 3: set horizontal structure pieces, put up roof pieces
Day 4: make swing
