Poles and Logs: Railing, Fencing and Trusses

Bring a rustic touch to your home or property

Using environmentally conscious methods, Greenleaf foresters remove only the trees that need to be harvested to keep the forest healthy.  Many of these are small-diameter trees, which then become poles and are made into these products to enhance your home or property .pole truss structure in the westcliffe pavilion which was built by greenleaf forestry craftsmen

The Greenleaf Guarantee

All of Greenleaf's products are made from wood harvested using sustainable methods. Greenleaf's forests are left standing, enhanced, ecologically intact, and healthy.

From “Options wide open for small-diameter wood” paper by Sheryl Herres on April 6th, 2004, Len Lankford, CEO and president of Greenleaf Forestry and Wood Products in Westcliffe, Colo., says communities come first. He said he believes forests must be kept intact and productive even after logging. He calls it “landscape logging,” and says the loggers would incorporate nursery operations.

“Imagine custom loggers that are landscape forestry teams,” Lankford said. “Imagine a wood factory that can use anything profitably – slash, small-diameter, defective wood in mixed-diameter woods. Imagine a true community forest. This is what the forest landowner and the public want.”
