Community Action: Creating & Maintaining a Sustainable Forestry & Wood Products Community

Greenleaf envisions a collaborative association of landowners, foresters, wood producers, and wood products users developed through innovative networks and relationship building.

If you are interested in becoming a part of our sustainable forestry and wood products community, let us know!  Also please contact us if we can help provide you with any of the following services:  info2@greenleafforestry.com

We envision building a network of collaborative businesses by:

  • Involving landowners as partners in business development

  • Sharing information and working as an interconnected industry of forest owners, foresters, forest products manufacturers, and consumers

  • Building an official “Association” or other business format to allow modeling, copying, and developing joint/ collaborative techniques, pricing, procedures, products, policies, marketing, etc.

  • Developing leadership and collaboration, recognizing the critical importance of leadership and seeking out other community leaders

  • Using special funding, grants and State Forest Service/U.S. Forest Service programs

  • Developing staff through internships in business management, sawmilling, wood manufacturing, forestry planning, forestry treatment services, equipment selection and management, personnel, computer systems, bookkeeping and marketing

  • Offering on-site visits by Greenleaf staff members to train other foresters and their crews at their locations or in one-on-one trainings at Greenleaf's headquarters in Westcliffe, Colorado

  • Using the resources of Small Business Development Centers and colleges

  • Offering business-to-business assistance for existing companies or those starting from scratch to build sustainable forest enterprises

  • Giving group presentations on details of the Greenleaf operating plan and system, including problem solving sessions

  • Gathering and communicating other recommendations and ideas
